Professional Portrait Artist,Chanpen
Chanpen was born in 1973 in Thailand. As a young girl she could always be found with paper, pen or pencils in hand. "She must become an artist in the future" everyone would say, as she used her pen and pencils to draw the world around her.
Chanpen did indeed grow to become an artist. She received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Bangkok in 1995 in Fine and Applied Arts with a Major in Interior Design. She spent the next ten years designing for one of the most prestigious design and architect firms in Asia focusing on prospectus, sketch, drawing, color, dimension and scale.
After moving to the United States, in 2005 she settled in Clearwater, Florida and began to experiment with pictorial renderings. She has developed a process of transforming a simple photograph, by utilizing various mediums into an exquisite work of art.

"I have a need to communicate pictorially rather than with words. Reality isn't my primary goal. I try to push the limit of realism in black and white or color mediums. I use the technical skill I have developed to tell a story or evoke an emotion"
